Talented pair make TV debut

A PAIR of talented ten-year-olds are looking forward to their television debut this week when Britain's Got Talents goes on air.

Pembroke dancing duo Ross John, of Buttermilk Close and Rebecca Powell, of St Davids Road, impressed celebrity judges Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell.

This no mean feat considering Simon Cowell's fearsome reputation and Piers Morgan having made headlines in America when he made a four-year-old cry on original show America's Got Talent.

Rebecca, who attends Golden Grove school, said: "I am so excited, it's something really different. You see all the stars on television and think wow, I want to be one of them.

"I really hope they show our lift, that's where I bend down and Ross cartwheels over me."

Rebecca's mum Margaret said: "Rebecca was jumping up and down when she saw the advert for the show. We are not sure yet how much of them, if any, we will see.

"There were some lovely bits, such as when they were interviewed by Ant and Dec and tried to teach them how to do box splits."

Ross, who attends Pembroke Dock Community School said he had let slip to his friends that he may be on the show.

He said: "I have told a few people... well everyone I know! I hope they show us dancing, but I don't mind which part, it's all good.

"There was one part where Ant and Dec crept up on us and started copying our moves."

His mum Debbie John said: "I'm really excited, but nervous as well.

"I hope they show Ross dancing - not arguing with Simon Cowell because he did put his point across."

No doubt TV's Mr Nasty will be flattered by Ross' observation that he is slimmer in real life.

Ross and Rebecca made it to the last 200 out of 50,000 contestants.

The show will start on Saturday and run for ten days on ITV with extended coverage on ITV2.
