MILFORD Haven has played host to visitors from the Ukraine this week, as part of the twin town link.

The guests, who come from Uman, in central Ukraine, were given a tour of the county by Mayor Cllr William Elliott and Deputy Mayor Cllr Colin Sharp.

During the week, visitors enjoyed a taste of Pembrokeshire at the Wickedly Welsh chocolate factory, taken in the sights at Newgale and St David's, and an evening performance from Milford Haven Town band and Junior Band in the Memorial Gardens.

They also met with local schoolchildren, and enjoyed a visit to the town hall and Milford Haven Museum.

Said Cllr Sharp, who represents the council on the twinning committee: "I feel its important to encourage friendship with our twinning town Uman.

"It has been a pleasure welcoming the delegates from Uman and learning about different cultures and how the two towns operate."

The council is now looking at a return visit to Uman this autumn.

Milford Haven is also twinned with Romilly-sur-Seine in France.
