A 'GILT-edged' performance of Elijah at St David's Cathedral that featured some of Wales’ most promising young singing talents has raised almost £1,500 for charity.

Proceeds from the event, organised by Milford Haven Music Festival, will go to Prostate Cymru, which has been instrumental in securing robotic surgery for Welsh cancer patients, including many from Pembrokeshire.

The total was reached thanks to match-funding from Barclays Bank in Haverfordwest, and help from Nick Turpin.

Performing on the night were baritone Gary Griffiths, soloists Camilla Roberts and Rebecca Afonwy-Jones and Pembrokeshire’s own star tenor Trystan Llyr-Griffiths.

They were accompanied by the 2014 Choir of the Year – CF1 Choir - the superb British Sinfonietta Orchestra and organist Huw Tregelles-Williams. Conductor was Llangollen International Eisteddfod director Eilir Owen-Griffiths.
