THE finishing touches are being put to this year’s St Ishmaels Carnival, which takes place next weekend.

A highlight of the summer for the small village, the carnival will take place on Saturday, August 13, at 2pm, setting off from the North Hall estate with the procession travelling through the village before finishing off at the sports field.

This year the fancy dress theme is open, and there will be cash prizes on offer for the best fancy dressed individual, best fancy dressed group and best float.

There are also cash prizes on offer in the raffle.

At the sports field there will be a fun fair along with bouncy castle, Vibz Street Dance and a car boot sale, with £5 fee per space.
