After two days of 7s competition, Pembrokeshire's Jasmine Joyce and the Team GB Women's side stand on the brink of Olympic glory after winning through to the semi finals.

Late last night, the side beat Fiji 26-7 in their last eight clash, with Joyce again appearing as a second half replacement for the fourth consecutive game.

After easily beating Brazil and Japan on Saturday, Team GB secured a first placed finish in Group C yesterday (Sunday) afternoon with an accomplished display against medal rivals Canada.

The Canadians were actually ranked No 3, a place above Team GB, going into the tournament but a brace of tries from skipper Emily Scarratt (2), Alice Richardson and Amy Wilson-Hardy secured Simon Middleton's side a 22-0 win.

And they kept up their momentum inlast night's quarter final, as Abbie Brown (2), Richardson, and Joanne Watmore all crossed to help see off a spirited Fijian side.

Team GB will now face New Zealand, with that game kicking off 7pm BST tomorrow (Monday) at the Deodoro Stadium. The other final four game sees Australia play Canada (6.30pm BST).

The winner of those matches will contest the final at 11pm BST, with the losers going into the bronze medal play off at 10.30pm BST.
