A 17-YEAR-old has been arrested on suspicion of arson, following a house fire that made a Milford Haven man homeless.

The young man was arrested today (Tuesday) as part of investigations into a fire at Badger’s Rest, Haven's Head, on Monday, August 8.

He is currently in police custody.

Emergency services were called to a property at around 6pm on Monday night (August 8).

Demi Oliver, who lives nearby, said she was outside in her garden when she heard a loud bang that sounded like fireworks.

"I thought nothing of it, then I heard the fire engines and I saw the fire and it looked like it was coming from my friend's house," she said.

Demi messaged Adam 'Boz' Norris - who was at a friend's house - to say his home was on fire.

"An hour later Boz messaged me saying 'thank you Demi, if it wasn't for you telling me I wouldn't have known'."

Fire crews battled the blaze for more than an hour, and thick smoke could be seen from Hakin and parts of Milford Haven.

A spokesman for the Police said they were currently investigating a suspected deliberate fire setting, and CSI officers were due to examine the scene yesterday (Tuesday).

Friends are now fundraising to get Mr Norris back on his feet after the incident.

Ashley Ketchum, from Haverfordwest, has started an online appeal for donations, which currently sits at just over £300.

"Boz has suffered a tragedy that none of us will probably ever experience in our lives," he said.

"He has been made homeless from a house fire that has decimated everything he owns, from clothes to DJ equipment - to put it bluntly, everything he owns.

"Every single penny will count."

The appeal is also accepting donations of clothes and household goods.
