MAYORS from across the county came to Neyland for the official civic service of Cllr Simon Hancock.

The dignitaries enjoyed a lunch at the Athletic Club, and performances from Neyland Ladies Choir, Milford Haven Town Band, and Milford Haven Sea Cadets.

"The coming year presents many opportunities and challenges," said Cllr Hancock,

"We have a major social housing development planned for Charles Street coupled with the challenge of keeping our green open space, which is essential.

"We have the Neyland Community Interest Company (CIC) - which was formed to help further plans to transform the Athletic Club site - the Windsor Gardens development, the future of GP care in the town, the next stage of improvements to the playpark, and environmental improvements to some of the empty buildings locally."

Cllr Hancock was first mayor in 1990, and this is the seventh time he has taken up the chains.
