THE head of Milford Haven's business circle is calling for an extension to short stay parking times in the town centre.

Byron Jenkins wants waiting times increased from an hour to two hours, in a bid to improve footfall.

He has started an online petition, which will be presented to the town and county councils.

"I would like to see an increase in the amount of time customers have to browse our shops, have treatments in our salons or even have time in our cafes and restaurants," said Mr Jenkins.

"In Milford Haven we struggle with parking everyday, and would like to see action taken to improve the shopping experience for everyone.

"Parking is a big issue throughout the whole of Pembrokeshire, and I would like to call on businesses, town teams, councillors and visitors to sign the petition.

"There are seven town teams working hard to regenerate town centres in Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Goodwick, Milford Haven, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock and Tenby, and I believe an extra hour of parking would greatly help this."
