PUPILS and staff in Milford Haven are celebrating a fantastic crop of GCSE results.

Headteacher Rod Francis said this year's results marked the most successful year in the school's history.

"Every child in Milford Haven school secured a GCSE in English and Maths, with 99 per cent of pupils achieving the equivalent of at least five GCSEs," added deputy head Beverley Davies.

"We have doubled the number of children achieving the top grades of A and A*.

"We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our students and absolutely delighted for them and their families."

Ms Davies said the gap between girls and boys had shrunk, particularly in English, with some remarkable individual achievements.

Tyler Cresswell said he was "surprised and chuffed" to get the results he needs to go on to sixth form in September.

He plans to take maths, physics and computers, with his sights set on engineering when he leaves school.

"I didn't think I'd do this well, but I did do a fair bit of work at home so I'm glad it's paid off," he said.
