PRESELI-Pembrokeshire MP Stephen Crabb has said the Meads School in Milford Haven deserves a "modern, up-to-date building", to complement the hard work of staff, governess and pupils.

Mr Crabb enjoyed a tour of the school - Wales' largest infant and nursery school - on Friday, October 7.

He was given a tour of the school and Flying Start facility by headteacher Sonja Groves, before being quizzed by the school council, who had prepared a range of interesting questions.

Mr Crabb then spoke with some of the governors of the school, including the chair of governors Father Harri Williams.

He said said: “I had an amazing couple of hours visiting the Meads School and seeing the fantastic work the 100-strong team of staff do, being brilliantly led by head teacher Sonja Groves.

“I had a great time with the school council answering some really good, well thought-out questions.

"The school now deserves a modern up-to-date building to complement the hard work of the staff, pupils and governors.”

Acting head teacher Sonja Groves said: “Having talked to the children I know that they really enjoyed meeting Mr Crabb.

"They liked him answering their questions very much and have thought of even more questions now.

“They found out about his job and were very impressed with the fact that he has met the Queen.

"They liked showing him their school and were pleased that he liked the nice displays.”
