PEOPLE of all ages will enjoy an even jollier Christmas, thanks to Milford Haven town council.

On Monday night, councillors decided which local groups would benefit from its Christmas funding pot.

The biggest donation of the night was £300 to Milford Haven Youth Council, which puts on a Christmas dinner and bingo event for older people in the town.

Pembrokeshire Action to Combat Hardship (PATCH) received £200, to support the poverty relief charity's annual Christmas Toy Appeal.

Receiving £100 each towards Christmas parties for its young members were 1st Hakin Brownie Unit (Girlguiding Pembrokeshire), and 7th Milford Haven Brownie Unit (Girlguiding Pembrokeshire).

£100 will also go to the Friends of Havenhurst, who provide Christmas presents for all residents at the care home.

Members also voted to award the following sums: Hakin Old Age Pensioners (£80), Haven over-60s club (£80), Hubberston Women's Institute (£40), Milford Haven Rugby Club (£100), Milford Haven swimming squad (£100), Milford United Football Club Junior Section (£100), National Federation of Retirement Pensioners Association (£80), Pill Social Centre (£75), RVS Milford Haven Darby & Joan Club (£80), Salvation Army (Tenby) (£100), and £150 to St. Katharine & St. Peter's Church to put on an interactive nativity event at the church for around 400 local school children.

Milford Haven Business Circle also received £350 towards town centre activities such as face painting and a magician this Saturday, from the Town Regeneration Fund.
