A WOMAN diagnosed with incurable ovarian cancer has raised more than £800 for a Pembrokeshire palliative care centre.

Julie Chittleburgh, from Milford Haven, was diagnosed with cancer in 2009, but despite ongoing treatment she was told in 2015 the disease is non-curable.

That summer, she started attending Shalom House, in St Davids, where she receives support, complementary treatments, and gets to meet other people living with cancer.

As thanks to the centre, Julie and her family recently organised a raffle for Shalom House, raising a fantastic £862, which will go directly towards patient care.

Julie said: "Shalom isn't a sad place, or all about everything medical, it's about fun, laughter and being yourself.

"But there's always an ear to listen if you want to talk about your illness.

"I for one am extremely grateful for what they've done for me and my family."

Shalom House offers respite care, occupational therapy, relaxation therapies, and support to cancer patients and their families.
