A CHARITY darts event has raised more than £600 to help buy a disabled Milford Haven man a new wheelchair.

The tournament, held at the Kimberley pub, enjoyed a fantastic turn-out, with plenty of prizes donated.

Winners were Tracy Beavis and Bugsey, while runners up were Lee Boswell and Dowey.

Highest out was claimed by Tracy Beavis and Bugsey.

The money will go towards buying a new electric wheelchair for 24-year-old Matthew Griffiths.

He has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, a condition that affects all his limbs and means he cannot feed, bathe or dress himself.

Matthew’s current wheelchair is old, heavy and uncomfortable, and his sister Emma Clayton is trying to raise enough money to him a new electric wheelchair.

A new custom-fitted chair would mean Matthew could go on longer walks with his family and other carers, because they would not need to push him around all day.

A bingo fundraiser will also take place at the Royal British Legion Club on Thursday, February 16, at 7pm.
