MILFORD United Football Club's grounds have again been targeted by vandals.

Three windows and the door of a portable building at the club's Marble Hall site were damaged on Tuesday (February 21).

The building, which was used as changing facilities for the club's junior players, also doubled as a place for friends and family to serve refreshments, and raise much-needed cash for the club.

Division one team manager Andrew Burgoyne, said the incident was the latest in a "saga".

On February 8, vandals caused extensive damage to part of the site, and last year the club had to take the unhappy decision to remove observation stands, due to ongoing problems.

"People would come down on a Friday and Saturday night and then we were having to pick up broken glass from the pitch the next morning, because it was a danger to those who play football," said Mr Burgoyne.

He said Milford United worked hard to foster a culture of respect in all its members, and was disappointed to see people still regularly causing trouble.

"We're a non-profit organisation, so when something like this happens it sets us back," he said.

The club is currently fundraising for a full fence to surround the grounds, in the hopes this will combat further incidents.

Mr Burgoyne appealed for anyone with any information to contact the police on 101.
