MILFORD Haven Hockey Ladies may have finished their league season at the start of April - but they chose to round off the campaign in a light hearted manner with a fun charity tournament on the astroturf at Milford Secondary School.
All proceeds from the day went to the Megan’s Starr Foundation, in memory of former club member Megan Evans, who tragically died earlier this year.
Overall, six teams entered, made up of junior and senior members from the club, as well as friends and family members of those involved.
Megan’s family were also in attendance to offer their support.
And all proceeded to have an enjoyable day with games played in a good spirit - and overall, £200 was raised for the foundation.
The winning team consisted of Kasey Arran, James Charles, Rachel Coe, Diane Davies, Ryan Davies, Vicki John, and Yasmin Riggs.
“Thank you to everyone who came and offered their support,” said Milford captain Emma Summons.
“It was a nice day and a good amount raised for the Megan’s Starr Foundation.”
Emma also thanked all supporters, sponsors, coaches and players for their efforts throughout the 2016/17 season.
