BROAD Haven seafront will see some special visitors as myths and legends are celebrated at this year's carnival.

The always popular Havens Carnival is going epic for 2017 and is throwing in a little bit of magic for good measure with crowds expected to watch the parade along the seafront to Broad Haven School field.

“Magic, myths and legends is the theme in and we are hoping to see a myriad of fancy dress, floats and costumes,” said carnival crew chairman, Les Reohorn.

“Everything from fairies and dragons to Tom Jones and Gareth Bale look-a-likes! There will be over £250 in prizes to be won for fancy dress costumes and for well-dressed floats. It’s really all come together for us this year,” added Les. “We’ve been hugely lucky in securing a display from Pembrokeshire Falconry, so everyone will enjoy seeing the delightful owls and other magnificent birds of prey.”

Other attractions will include visits by characters from children's TV favourites Poppy from Trolls and Marshall from Paw Patrol. as well as unicorn rides!

Carnival game directors Dave, Kate and Claire have been preparing an exhilarating new game for 2017. “Continuing in the magical theme, we’re very excited to announce that we shall be attempting to produce a game of Quidditch! It’s a game that reflects the theme perfectly but visitors should expect the usual Havens Carnival twist,” said Dave.
