AS it plans to make yet more changes to health services in the area the Health Board is holding one event in the county for people to air their views.

Hywel Dda says it wants to hear public opinion on how services are run and have the chance to speak to clinicians as part of its Transforming Clinical Services campaign.

It states that changes "need" to be made to out of hospital care, urgent and emergency care and planned care.

"Our doctors want to talk to you and hear your views on how we run health services – and what we could do to improve them in the future.

"‘Transforming Clinical Services’ invites you to join in our big conversation about our local NHS. We want to talk to and hear from patients, the public, carers, Community Health Councils, local authorities, the third sector – in fact everyone who uses, cares about or interacts with our services.

"We want to listen to the views and experiences of many people and groups to help develop a range of solutions that genuinely meet the needs of our communities," a spokesman said.

The event is on Tuesday, July 18, 2pm, Roch Victoria Hall, Roch.

There will also be one event in Ceredigion and one in Carmarthenshire.

Dr Phil Kloer, Medical Director and Director of Clinical Services Strategy, said: “At the heart of Transforming Clinical Services is one question: ‘How can we design services to meet the future healthcare needs of our local population, and help drive population health improvement in Mid and West Wales.' We face a range of challenges and recognise that currently services are not as good as we would want them to be. We feel strongly that our residents deserve the best possible care and support to lead healthier lives.

“We don’t want to assume we know best; we want to listen to our staff, patients and the public to understand what future improvements they want to see and then work together to achieve these over the next few years. This engagement exercise is the first step – we have not made any decisions, we want to hear everyone’s ideas, and to do this we have produced an "issues paper" for people to read and consider as well as a questionnaire to share their feedback. We are also running a series of online sessions to find out what people think.”
