THE ladies of Soroptimist International Milford Haven are now having a summer break after a very busy few months.

Joint presidents Sheila Griffiths and Trisha Campodonic would like to thank the members for their wonderful support during their first four months in office.

There has been a great variety of events including an amazing talk from Sandra Dade, charity manager for the Paul Sartori Foundation, about the Vietnam to Cambodia Cycle Challenge in which she took part, to a ‘Safari Supper’ when members enjoyed a wonderful warm early summer evening going from venue to venue to enjoy a four-course meal and raised almost £500 that will be donated to Shalom Hospice in St Davids.

The Presidents attended the Civic Service in Milford Haven for Cllr Colin Sharp and sponsored and presented prizes at the Milford School Pupil and Community Celebration.

Several members attended the Soroptimist International Wales South regional study day at the Pavilion in Haverfordwest in June.

The club has also enjoyed an entertaining talk from Gillian Richardson, Port Pilot, and an Introduction to Yoga by Bridget Whitehead.

Several members are keen amateur gardeners and spent a day gardening at Shalom, and helped to clear the patio at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven.

The club members like to take part in supporting and helping local charities and organisations when they can.

Following the summer recess there is an interesting programme of events lined up for the autumn including speakers and a Harvest Lunch.

Soroptimist International has members in 28 countries around the globe who are involved in 3,424 ongoing projects worldwide helping women and girls reach their full potential.
