HEARTLESS vandals have wreaked havoc at a community run beauty spot this weekend.
Late on Saturday night vandals made a bonfire at Broad Haven’s Boardwalk which had to be put out by the fire brigade.
They also destroyed bug hotels, built by the community, which were part of the area’s nature reserve.
Broad Haven Boardwalk was built and is maintained by the community and they are appealing for witnesses to the destruction to contact the police.
On the Support the Boardwalk Facebook page members stated: “After some folk had a bonfire at the Picnic Area last night and the Fire Brigade kindly coming and putting it out. Volunteers are meeting this afternoon at 3pm to clear up the mess and salvage what can be saved and reused from the destroyed bug hotels.
We shall organise an event to rebuild them soon but in the meantime please look out for any palettes please, or ask friends if they have any to spare, and plastic bottles, bricks etc for going inside.”
Volunteers joined forces and quickly set about repair the area and were thanked by the members.
