FAMILIES turned out in their hundreds for Milford Haven Golf Club's biggest family fun day yet.

With the sun shining, the club opened its doors on August 12 for the annual event, funded this year by the Big Lottery Invest Local programme.

Children enjoyed a giant bouncy giraffe, inflatable gladiator game, inflatable golf net, test your strength game, live music, event photographer, craft stalls in the marquee, face-painting, lucky dip, hook a duck, barbecue and sweets stall, 'kidz' corner', lawn games, football practice, and mini sports events.

The event was opened by deputy mayor of Milford Haven, and local town councillor Rose Gray, and hosted by local entertainer Matt Baker.

Youngsters also got to meet the teams from Milford Haven fire station, and local police officers.

A charity raffle clocked up £200, to be shared between the Sandy Bear children's bereavement service and Pembrokeshire Hogspital.

A club spokesman said: "A huge thank you to Invest Local programme for the funding, the staff and volunteers who worked very hard on the day, and to the stall holders and suppliers who really made the day extra special and without whom it would not have happened.

"Thanks also to the committee and members for supporting the day and we look forward to welcoming you all again next year."
