ALMOST 60 bags of rubbish has been collected from a Milford Haven housing estate, as part of a big clean-up event.

Residents of all ages from the Mount Estate joined forces with staff from Pembrokeshire County Council staff on Monday, to lend a land.

The day was organised in response to a long-running issue with litter on the estate.

On site were the County Council’s dog wardens, who along with the recycling and housing departments, were able to offer residents advice. A bulky items collection was also available.

Besides the County Council, other organisations taking part were the local policing team, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Volunteering Matters and a representative of PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services).

Helping with the clean-up was local County Councillor Guy Woodham, Milford Mayor, Councillor Colin Sharp and Town Councillor Terry Davies.

Keep Wales Tidy donated some of the litter-picking equipment including red bags, hi-vis vests and gloves.

The litter-pick was followed by a free lunch for all the volunteers and a play session run by Purple Routes for local children in the afternoon.
