THE annual general meeting of the Pembrokeshire Historical Society was held at the Picton Centre, Haverfordwest recently.
A new president was elected, Professor David W. Howell of Swansea University in place of the late Professor Geoffrey Wainwright who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Dr Simon Hancock of Neyland was elected chairman of the society and he paid tribute to the outgoing secretary Ann Sayer and chairman Rev Chris Gillham for all their hard work.
New committee members elected were Angela Atherton and Nic Wheeler.
After the meeting Simon Hancock gave a presentation entitled 'The History of the Port of Haverfordwest'.
The next lecture in the series will be on November 3 at 7.30pm when Dr Roger Turvey of Ammanford will talk on the Perrot family and Haroldston House.
