THERE will be double bill of truly beautiful music at Newport Memorial Hall today, Thursday, October 26 at 7.30pm.
Headliners The Foxglove Trio deliver an intriguing repertoire and imaginative arrangements on guitar, cello melodeon, concertina and bodhran, as well as a gorgeous blend of clear, soaring vocals and tight harmonies.
Their energetic and charming set includes lesser-known traditional and contemporary Welsh and English folk songs, transformed into what are described as "moments of breath-taking beauty".
They are supported by home-grown talent, Lowri Evans and Lee Mason. Lowri was first spotted by Wyn Jones of Fflach and has gone onto be recognised as a major talent with Bob Harries (BBC Radio 2) describing her as "one of his absolute favourite artists".
Lowri and Lee are squeezing he gig into their European tour supporting award-winning singer-songwriter Tom McRae
Tickets for the double bill are £7.50 and £7 concessions. To book call: 07772004218. Tickets can also be purchased at Newport Wholefoods.
