South Wales Women's Hockey League Division Two:

Gwent 3rds 0
Milford Haven Ladies 1

Milford continued their good form with a win on the road at Gwent on Saturday.

The score didn’t reflect the superiority of the visitors, as a Charlotte Davies goal decided matters.

The only disappointment for Milford was their failure to convert countless chances as they showed class in all departments - pressing from the front to deny the home side space, while passing and moving well in attack.

They pinned the visitors in their own half early on, and the deadlock was broken when Vicki John threaded the ball to Davies, who placed a shot into the bottom corner.

Milford continued to dominate possession after the break, but despite numerous chances lacked a ruthlessness in front of goal.

But the away side remained solid at the back and saw the game out without any real alarm.

A number of players caught the eye, notably youngster Kasey Arran, who was named man of the match for her display at left half.

“It was another great result and performance, but we still have plenty to work,” said skipper Emma Summons, whose team host Cardiff University 4ths on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Milford squad: Emma Summons, Louise Bellamy, Vicki John, Kate Farr, Charlotte Davies, Kasey Arran, Rachel Coe, Jemma Phillips, Anya Ackerman, Aaliyah Coaker.
