WHILE most people were getting ready to party, a hardy bunch of volunteers spent New Year's Eve clearing 38 sackfuls of rubbish from Marloes Sands.
The group of around 25 people spent the day picking up waste from the beauty spot.
Chris Jessop, who organised the event, said: "A huge thank you to everyone who took part, especially the younger volunteers.
"And, as ever, well done to Trehill Farm for quad-bike hauling the 'spoils' up the lane, saving us a lot of backache.
"The tally was 38 sack equivalents, which left the beach from Sandy Lane down to Churchill pretty much spotless and also saw a 'stash' at Mathew's Slade dealt with.
"Including a few beach walkers who joined in on the spot, we were about 25-strong."
Mr Jessop also thanked those who helped haul a yellow buoy up the cliff on Friday, December 29.
"The buoy contained 2,500 litres of expanded polystyrene, that's a huge pollution threat removed from the Sands," he said.
"Thank goodness marine plastic pollution is now moving up the news agenda."
