DRAGONS danced down St Davids High Street on Saturday, March 17 at the rescheduled St Davids Day Dragon Parade.
Originally planned to celebrate St David’s Day the even was postponed when the county was lashed by the Beast from the East.
It was rescheduled on St Patrick’s Day to celebrate the connection between the two saints and cultures.
“While we were looking for a suitable date to hold the rearranged event, it was decided that St Patrick’s Day would be ideal,” said Oriel y Parc Manager Jenn Jones. “St Davids is twinned with Naas in Ireland and there are so many legendary links between St Davids and Ireland’s patron saint."
On Saturday dragons from Ysgol Bro Dewi, St Davids Guides, Redhill Prep School, Ysgol Croesgoch, Cylch Meithrin Croesgoch and St Davids Care in the Community were led through the city by 948 Squadron Air Training Corps Band and Blood Bikes Wales.
“A big thank you to everyone who braved the cold for the Dragon Parade on Saturday,” said a National Park spokesman.
