NEYLAND residents are to have the chance to ‘grill a Bishop’ in a local pub as Easter approaches.

The Bishop of St Davids, Rt Revd Joanna Penberthy, will spend the evening of Wednesday March 28 in the Forresters Arms, and everyone is invited to come along and join her in an informal question and answer session over a pint or a glass of wine.

In fact, the Bishop will be around all week, leading a joint venture by local churches in South Pembrokeshire to tell the real tale of Easter, from Palm Sunday (March 24) to Easter Day (April 1).

A Tale to Tell has events and services throughout Holy Week in Neyland, Burton, Rosemarket and Llanstadwell, organised by local parishioners and a team of ordinands (trainee vicars).

There will be exhibitions, talks and concerts in churches and church halls in the area and food plays a big part, with a South African supper, and a chance to learn how to cook authentic Indian curry on Easter Saturday.

Tales of Wales is a celebration of Welsh culture (Sunday March 25) with Neyland School, Neyland Ladies' Choir and an orchestra - and a chance to join in singing popular Welsh anthems.

And on Good Friday (March 29) Neyland Churches Together will lead a Walk of Witness from St Clements to Zion Chapel and on to Bethesda for tea and hot cross buns.

Vicar, Canon Alan Chadwick, said: "The Easter story is for everyone and we believe it's the greatest story ever told so we want to share it with everyone."

The full programme may be found on the parish website at parish.churchinwales.org.uk/d318/a-tale-to-tell and further information is available from the vicarage on 01646 600227.
