GET your blasters at the ready as Pembroke Dock hits Lightspeed, with a day of activities and a procession through the town.

On Saturday, May 5 a giant spaceship will lead a parade alongside costumed characters from Star Wars.

The event was set up for the play Lightspeed from Pembroke Dock, about the construction of the Millennium Falcon in Pembroke Dock for the film Star Wars: The Empire Strike's Back.

Children will carry spaceships they made in school projects along the route, joined by friends and family in their best Star Wars inspired dress.

Accompanying the procession will be a group of Stormtroopers followed by a band playing the Star Wars theme tune.

The Procession will start at 1pm at the Pater Hall and go on to the Market Hall and Heritage Centre, where there will be various family-friendly activities.

With a lightsabre combat sporting academy from LudoSport Cymru, face painting, craft activities and more, there's something for all kids to enjoy.

There will also be a screening of a short film about the building of the Falcon in Pembroke Dock and a showcase of past and current work in the dockyard by local companies.

At the end of the event, there will be buses available to take ticket holders over to the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven to see Lightspeed from Pembroke Dock and to bring them back afterwards.

The Torch Theatre is offering subsidised tickets for residents of Pembroke Dock.
