A TEENAGER was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, following a late night river search in Haverfordwest.

Police received a call about suspicious activity at the rear of Bridge Street, Haverfordwest, during the early hours of Monday, May 28.

A 17-year-old boy was located at the rear of Quay Street shortly after in possession of what is believed to be cannabis, as well as white powder.

He is alleged to have made off from an officer, ending up in the river near Wilko supermarket.

Squad cars were parked at the entrance to Swan Square and alongside Morrisons play park, while officers searched the riverbanks by torchlight.

The boy was located shortly after 12.30am, and arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A and class B drug.

He was later released under investigation while officers carry out further enquiries.
