A PEMBROKE Dock schoolgirl has raised £400 to help youngsters who have lost their hair - and has a dramatic new do to prove it.

Isabella Cressey, aged seven, had 18 inches of hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real-hair wigs for children that have lost their own due to illness.

Isabella said she had always loved having long hair and was very proud of it, but wanted to help those less fortunate.

So last week, she visited Laurie Williams' hair salon in Pembroke Dock, where stylist Leah Willis had the honour of chopping her waist-length locks into a smart long bob.

Sam, Isabella’s mother, read about the Little Princess Trust in a magazine and mentioned that children had lost their hair through illness.

Isabella said she wanted to help them and thought the best way would be by donating her hair.

Sharon George, Isabella’s grandmother, said: “The haircut is lovely, it looks really nice and she’s loving it.

"She’s well pleased and I think she would do it again if it ever gets that long again.”

Mrs George said it would be great if more people could donate their hair to the Little Princess Trust.

“It would be lovely if more people could give it a go,” she said.

“You would be getting it cut off for a really good cause and giving children a chance to live a normal life."
