A WOMEN'S voluntary organisation celebrating its 60th year has announced its new president.

Vicky Brown has taken over the presidency of Milford Haven Inner Wheel Club from her mum Lynda.

Inner Wheel is one of the largest women’s service organisations in the World with a membership of more than 103,000 in 3,895 clubs from more than 103 countries across the world.

The main aim of Inner Wheel is to promote true friendship and foster international understanding.

The group provides a friendly environment in which to get to know other people in the community whilst raising funds for both local and international charities.

Vicky’s chosen charity for the year is Pembrokeshire Sibling Group - a not-for-profit charity helping the siblings of disabled children, staffed mostly by volunteers.

“We are planning many exciting activities in order to raise money for this superb charity such as a board games afternoon for the whole family, afternoon teas and a concert featuring songs from around the world," said Vicky.

"Our first event is an afternoon tea on Thursday, August 23, in Llanstadwell.

"This year is particularly exciting for Milford Haven Inner Wheel Club as it is our 60th year of service.

"We are always looking for people to come and join us so if you fancy making a difference to your local community while meeting new friends please do get in touch."
