A HAKIN man was tackled to the ground by police officers while shouting and swearing at his neighbours.

Jordan Lee Hunter, of Observatory Avenue, appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Wednesday, August 22.

He pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of, or provoke violence, assaulting a constable and obstructing or resisting an officer in the execution of their duty.

A charge of assault by beating, denied by Hunter, was dismissed by the court.

Dennis Davies, prosecuting, told the court that Hunter’s neighbours became involved while he argued with his girlfriend on June 14.

Hunter, 22, shouted and swore at a man who came home from work to find him kicking his own door, and told him to mind his own business.

He stared at his neighbour and called him names, then came over to his window and said he would kill him and his children.

An officer was barged out the way when police arrived at the scene, and Hunter was tackled to the ground where he struggled with officers as they attempted to handcuff him.

Jonathan Webb, defending, said Huntley ‘took umbrage’ when his neighbours became involved, and had barged past the officer to remonstrate with someone he was trading insults with.

“It was all bluster, bravado and trading insults by both parties.”

Magistrates ordered Hunter to pay a total of £504 in fines, costs and a surcharge.
