AN AFTERNOON tea has raised money for a charity helping young people.

Inner Wheel Club of Milford Haven's fundraising feast clocked up vital cash for Pembrokeshire Sibling Group, which support children whose siblings require extra care.

"It’s so important these children get a chance to be the centre of attention and the opportunity to act their age as many of them are either involved in the care of a disabled sibling or find their home life is affected by the situation," said Inner Wheel president Vicky Brown.

"Due to the necessary attention needed by the disabled sibling it is hard for these children to undertake normal childhood activities due to the restrictions on the family in catering for the disabled person’s needs.

"This charity enables these children to not only have fun but also interact with others experiencing the same situation."

Inner Wheel is one of the largest women's voluntary service organisations in the world with members in 103 countries.

This year Milford Haven branch celebrates its 60th year.

Members are busy planning events such as a fundraising 'Around the World' concert featuring the West Wales Show Choir, plus afternoon teas, coffee mornings, a family board game afternoon and a whole host of other exciting events in the community.

Vicky added: “If you are interested in joining Inner Wheel, we meet once a month in the Starboard to share a meal and plan our fundraising and social events.

"We would love to hear from anyone in Milford Haven and surrounding areas, who feel that they would benefit from the many opportunities Inner Wheel membership offers.

"Our existing members cover a wide age range so there really is something for everyone in our club."
