A MILFORD Haven woman died as a result of an accident in her own home, an inquest heard.

Margaret Llewellyn, of Elizabeth Venmore Court, York Street, passed away on July 10.

The September 20 inquest, at Milford Haven Town Hall, heard from Jeremy Davies, coroner's officer for Dyfed-Powys Police in Pembrokeshire, who described the circumstances leading up to Mrs Llewellyn’s death.

In the years leading up to hear death, Mrs Llewellyn, 75, had suffered from a series of health issues.

“In June she suffered a nose bleed. She had a low appetite, but put it down to the hot weather,” said Mr Davies.

Mrs Llewellyn’s children Shirley Mayhew and Andrew Evans attended the inquest.

Her daughter, a healthcare professional, suspected she may have suffered a series of small strokes.

Mrs Llewellyn was given a brain scan at hospital, but nothing was found.

On July 2, Mrs Mayhew visited her mother’s home and found her with her head back and eyes closed, saying she was having a turn.

The court heard Mrs Llewellyn often downplayed any medical issues, and did not like to visit the hospital.

On July 9, Mrs Llewellyn and her daughter visited Tesco in Milford Haven, and had an episode where she could not co-ordinate her movements or speech.

On July 10, the day of her death, Mrs Llewellyn saw a neighbour and explained to him she had been unwell, and spoke to her daughter on the phone.

That night, Mrs Mayhew called to see her mother, finding her body in the hallway.

A post-mortem report by Dr Petya Nadiva gave Mrs Llewellyn’s cause of death as a haemorrhage suffered after a fall.

Pembrokeshire Coroner Mark Layton concluded Mrs Llewellyn’s death was the result on an accident.

“From the evidence, I conclude Margaret Llewellyn had some balance and co-ordination problems brought on by health issues in life.

“She suffered a domestic fall and a head injury and that led to her death."
