A keen musician is appealing to be reunited with an old accordion of his nearly 40 years.

Bill Jenkins, of Hakin, is a former member of popular county band the Rebels from the late fifties and early sixties, when he was their accordion player.

The retired Tesco worker bought the accordion brand new in the late 1950’s.

However, Bill sold the instrument to a local woman in the early sixties after he joined Milford Haven band Don Wade and the Wayfarers and invested in a portable organ.

Bill said: “I sold it to buy a more modern instrument as I was joining a more modern band.”

The 67-year-old remembers very little about the woman he sold the accordion to, but he is eager to track her down or whoever now owns it so that a possible reunion with the instrument he enjoyed playing so much could happen.

The particular model of accordion was a Hohner Lucia, 96 bass and was red with a gold-coloured metal grill.

“Now I am retired I would like to get back into playing the accordion – it’s good exercise to,” he joked.

“I am wondering if the accordion is still around and if so, would the present owner allow me to buy it back?”

o Do you know the lady who bought the accordion? Or do you know of what has become of it?
