A local girl has proved herself to be a model for national success.

Underwear company brastop.com launched its Star in a bra competition last June in an attempt to find a lead face for its new range of stock.

After a UK-wide search, Emma Tabor, of Pembroke, was judged the winner.

Remarkably Emma, aged 19, had no experience in modelling when she entered the competition and said her triumph came as a ‘complete shock’.

“I subscribe to the company mailing list so found out about the competition that way,” she said.

“A friend of mine sent off some pictures on my behalf but I wasn’t expecting anything, it was just a bit of fun to be honest. But soon after I was told I’d made the the final 25.”

The 25 was then cut down to a final 12 and Emma was announced the outright winner following a public vote.

Last Sunday, she travelled to Nottingham to participate in her first shoot for the company.

“It was a vintage style shoot inspired by Marilyn Monroe, but more natural, without the red lippy,” joked Emma.

Emma, who attended Pembroke school and is currently studying journalism at Glamorgan university, added she was delighted with the support received from friends and family.
