Tributes have been paid to a young Milford Haven woman who died suddenly while on holiday with friends.
Eighteen-year-old Jordan Louise Carter was on a two-week summer break in Gran Canaria when she died suddenly on Tuesday.
Her mother Tracy described Jordan as: “Perfect, beautiful, laid back, – the daughter everyone wanted.”
Father Nicky said: “She was one in a million.”
The family from Vicary Crescent, in Milford Haven, said Jordan loved nothing more than relaxing in her room watching DVDs and said they could not have wished for a better daughter and sister to Alex.
Jordan had been a pupil at Milford Haven School and had just completed A-levels in travel and tourism, TK (cookery) and business.
Since May she had been working part-time at Morrisons, in Haverfordwest and had previously worked at Woolworths, in Milford Haven.
Jordan, along with six friends, had booked the holiday to Gran Canaria last year and the group of friends were already planning next year’s trip abroad when the tragedy struck.
Tracy last spoke to her daughter on Monday and said she was having a good time, talking from the hotel balcony while she and her friends were getting ready for a night out.
“They were having a chilled-out first week and had made plans to go scuba diving and to water parks for the second week,” she said.
Jordan’s friends were due to fly home last night (Wednesday).
Headteacher of Milford Haven school Islwyn Morgan described Jordan as “quiet, trustworthy, reliable and an extremely well-liked member of the school community.”
He added: “In a quiet, unassuming way she took an active part in sixth form life.
“It was Jordan’s intention to study travel and tourism at Trinity College, Carmarthen. She will be sorely missed by all.”
Tracy added: “We couldn’t have wished for a better daughter.
“I don’t know what we are going to do without her, its devastating.”
Jordan’s funeral had yet to be arranged at the time of going to press. Contact Tom Newing and Sons, Milford Haven, on 01646 693180 for more information.
