Angle lifeboat rescues Taymor One for second time

A fishing vessel has been towed to safety by Angle's Tamar class all-weather lifeboat for the second time in just over a week.

At 10.21am on Friday, November 6th, the Mark Mason was launched to assist Taymor One, which had an overheating engine and was in Fisherman's Bay, just off St Anne's Head, near the entrance to the Milford Haven Waterway.

After securing the tow, the lifeboat brought the fishing vessel, which had three people on board, to Milford Marina.

The 32 foot Taymor One, with two crew on board, had first hit problems just over a week before, on Thursday, 29th October. Her engine had overheated in Broad Sound on the north side of Skokholm island.

The Tamar lifeboat, Mark Mason, was launched at the request of HM Coastguard, to go to her aid.

When the lifeboat reached the scene, Taymor One was being towed, with difficulty, by another fishing boat, Rebecca Jane.

The lifeboat then took over the tow and brought the stricken vessel to the casualty buoy off Angle lifeboat station, where she was met by another fishing boat from Milford Haven.

Angle's all-weather and inshore lifeboats have been launched on service 40 times so far this year.
