Dyfed-Powys police held a public meeting in Milford Haven town hall last month to listen to public views.

The meeting was chaired by Councillor John Davies, a police authority member and leader of Pembrokeshire County Council.

The audience heard a number of presentations and then had the chance to ask questions to a panel of police authority representatives.

Chief Superintendent Dean Richards explained how the Pembrokeshire division was meeting the standards of service set within the policing pledge.

A number of questions were asked by the public in relation to operational policing matters and antisocial behaviour.

“The police authority was delighted that so many members of the public braved the weather to come to the meeting to share their views,” said Cllr Davies.

“The authority has listened to the key areas of concern for policing in Pembrokeshire and will be using the information gathered in the meeting to help set the formal policing priorities for next year, within the policing plan.”

Cllr Davies added that the public’s financial contribution helps pay for policing on the ground, so authorities wanted to ensure that the service delivered reflects local concerns.
