Goodwick United 3 Hakin United 1 Goodwick sailed through to the semi-finals of the Senior Cup thanks to this comprehensive win over old rivals Hakin United.

The hero was Dan Williams who blasted a 15 minute hat-trick in the second half to blow Hakin away.

Goodwick, who still have an outside chance in the league with games in hand, were the better side throughout and could have been three or four up at half time. Amazingly they had to wait until the 50th minute to take the lead.

And once the floodgates were open there was no stopping Williams who beat Jason Morgan again in the 58th and 65th minutes to seal the win.

Substitute Alan Davies, on for Steve Evans, linked with Raymond to set up Williams' first goal. The young striker ghosted past a defender and drilled his shot into the roof of the net.

Number two followed soon after. Nigel Delaney won the ball on the right and Raymond threaded through a ball which allowed Williams to touch it around Morgan and almost casually flick it into the net again.

Goodwick sealed their win when Delaney found Steve Blackford on the left with a free kick and his cross was pulled down by Williams and rifled into the far corner to complete a remarkable hat-trick.

Hakin's consolation came late on when Nick Thomas crossed for Paul Jones to touch the ball home.

And there was still time for Goodwick to miss a penalty. Sub Lee Burrows was tripped in the box by Gary Dawes. Rob Hughes fluffed his spot-kick but it mattered little.
