There were narrow wins for NARBERTH and WHITLAND in Division One of the National League as they entertained BEDDAU and UWIC respectively.

The Otters won 19-15 but had to defend at the end after Beddau fought back from 19-3. Conversely, the Borderers were adrift by 14-5 at the break but battled back to win by 20-14.

Craig Hawkins (2) and Adrian Killa scored Narberth's tries and Gareth James slotted two conversions, with Beddau responding through a first-half penalty by Rhys Jenkins, followed by a Jenkins' try and conversion. Garreg Jenkins crossed again two minutes later to set the Otter alarm bells ringing but Narberth held on for the last 15 minutes to sneak a less than flattering win.

Whitland could only muster a try by Fakatah Molitika before the break as the students of UWIC had tries by Lewis Tomlinson and Peter Powers, both converted by Gareth Morgan - but the Borderers bounced back with tries by centre Matthew Hughes and scrum half Andrew Jenkins to go with a conversion and penalty by pivot Aled Davies.

In Division Two, CARDIGAN went down by 12-18 to neighbours NEWCASTLE EMLYN in a tense local derby. The Cardis were 12-10 ahead near full time as Steffan Williams notched two penalties and a dropped goal to go with a penalty from centre Alun Williams, with Emlyn responding with a try by Ifan Jones and a Huw Evans' penalty.

But then winger Gethin Davies grabbed a late try and in injury time Emlyn centre Dyfrig Evans landed a dropped goal to seal a win for Emlyn against their deadliest rivals.

TENBY UNITED trailed by three points at the break against PONTARDDULAIS as Richard Bevan kicked a penalty but the Seasiders came through to win 25-3 with tries by Lee Tucker, Chris James and Anthony Griffiths to go with a dropped goal by Neil Powling, plus two conversions and a penalty from Darren Rees.

FISHGUARD and GOODWICK were boosted by a good 19-3 away win at TYCROES as Matthew Fuge kicked a penalty which was cancelled out by Seagulls' fly half Alun Evans before the break. Evans also notched two further penalties in the second half alongside tries for Rhodri Thomas and Steve Jenkins to put a rare smile on coach Chris Mitchell's face!

CRYMYCH took a giant step towards promotion as they beat fellow hopefuls PONTYATES for the second time in eight days. Andrew Evans scored Pontyates' lone try but tries by Andrew Morris and centre Matthew Hill, plus 14 points from Gareth Davies, saw the Mountain Men to a vital 24-5 victory.

ST DAVIDS lost at home by 27-5 against NEW DOCK STARS, who were 17-5 ahead at half time thanks to tries by Dean Evans (2) and Dai Clarke alongside a Rob Wilson conversion. Chris Morgan scored the Saints' only try in the first period but the Stars had further points from a Wilson penalty and Rhodri Owen try to take the spoils.
