The Torch Theatre has enjoyed a very busy year culminating in the theatre company’s own production of Jack and the Beanstalk.

As well as the enthusiastic team of staff who work at the Milford Haven theatre there is also a small army of dedicated volunteers who ensure the smooth running of the front of house and help market the wide variety of offerings at the theatre.

Torch marketing manager Lesley Jones said: “Torch volunteers are local people with a love of theatre who give freely of their time to contribute in many ways to the successful running of the Torch Theatre.

“They are vital members of the Torch team and the time and commitment that they continually give to the theatre is much appreciated.”

Sixty volunteers, aged from 16 to 70 plus, currently work with the Torch front of house team.

Their duties include ushering, selling programmes and merchandise, distributing leaflets, helping customers and providing a warm welcome to all the theatre visitors and audiences.

The marketing department also has its own team of volunteers who assist in the regular distribution of posters, flyers and brochures around the county and others help the team put together the latest mailing lists.

The Torch is currently looking to recruit new volunteers for 2011.
