PEMBROKESHIRE Tourism joined millions of people in celebrating Farmhouse Breakfast Week at the end of January.

It is an annual celebration which promotes the important benefits of a healthy breakfast.

Throughout the week, Pembrokeshire Tourism ran a social media campaign on healthy breakfast options provided by the association’s members.

The organisation also prepared its own locally sourced breakfast in the office, with fresh ingredients from supplier members Pembrokeshire Produce Direct and Bethesha Meats.

The tasty campaign concluded at Haverfordwest Farmers’ Market on Friday, January 31, where Pembrokeshire Tourism was joined by Radio Pembrokeshire and Jayne Hancock of Fields Lodge Bed & Breakfast, winner of the Pembrokeshire Tourism Best Breakfast Award 2013.

Pembrokeshire Tourism chief executive Maudie Hughes said: “As an organisation, our ethos is to support local suppliers by promoting the use of local produce as much as possible to our members, not only to keep it in the county but to also reduce food miles which an added bonus to the local economy.”

The coveted best breakfast in the county award will be up for grabs at the Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards later this year.
