Easy way to beat pumped up price

10:51am Thursday 7th December 2006

Dear editor,

Raymond Stoddart is right to point out that Tesco in Milford Haven regularly charges more for fuel than the Haverfordwest store (Why should Milford pay more for diesel?', Mercury, November 30) Most of the supermarkets charge more where local competition is absent.

Readers who have internet access can check out the cheapest fuel prices locally at www.petrolprices.com.

All you need to do is type in your postcode.

Currently the best buy is from Morrisons Haverfordwest using a Morrisons cash back card ( worth 1.5p per ltr in goods) and paying with a Tesco credit card which gives you Tesco points.

If just 10% of Tesco's Milford customers did this, Tesco would soon bring prices into line in Milford.
