AS THE county council now seems to have turned its attention away from Brooklands in its recycling scheme, would this now be an appropriate time for it to issue an apology to the owners and staff for the 18 months’ worry and suspense to which they have been subjected, together with the relatives over the possible effects upon their residents?

When you couple this with the way in which the National Park’s committee was treated in the cancellation of the submission meeting at virtually the eleventh hour, it cannot be denied that Pembrokeshire County Council has crossed the boundaries of decent etiquette.

It would seem too that we, the public, are due an apology for the eye-watering amount of money that was spent on this scheme that was doomed to failure from the start. Is the money just swept under the carpet at a time when we hear of the need for cutbacks in public services?
