DURING my four years as Haverfordwest Town Centre manager we introduced many schemes to enhance the experience of local shoppers and visitors.
We had uniformed town guides during the summer season, we issued thousands of hard copy maps and lists of businesses as well as an up to date website and ten “you are here maps” sited at key points in the town.
Coaches were met at the bus station and visitors directed to the Tourist Information Centre and elsewhere. Sadly none of these initiatives has survived in the longer term.
Now the council has decided to relocate the Information Centre behind the old library.
Many visitors were elderly and certainly few would be capable of the uphill struggle to the library.
That decision was complete stupidity.
