RE: The Long Course Weekend - Tenby and Pembroke and surrounding villages.

I HAVE just taken part in the long course weekend, doing the Wales HUUB swim on Friday night in Tenby, and the Wales Newton full marathon on Sunday.

I would just like to say what an amazing event it was, and would like to express my true thanks to all the competitors, spectators and organisers etc who made it so special.

The organisation was outstanding, thank you for such a great event. This is my third year of competing now and it just gets better every time.

Also to all the swimmers and runners that I met at each event, truly great people, and I met some lovely people from all over the country and further afield.

I would mainly like to say a huge massive thank you to all the people on the marathon route on Sunday, who shouted, waved and gave huge support to me and all the runners, the experience was second to none. Thank you, But I felt I had to write in to the paper to thank all the people in my home town of Pembroke too, who gave me such a lift while running from the Mill Pond right up to East End roundabout through the Main Street. I can’t thank them all enough. The shout outs and high five claps were amazing!

Then at East End roundabout the noise and the support was deafening, I would thank them all individually if I could, it helped me so much, because after the first 13 miles of the run that was just what I needed. I thank you one and all. It was truly appreciated.

Also to all the people on the lower Lamphey Road, Lamphey, and Freshwater East, Manorbier etc who put out their own drink and food stations for us outside their houses, thank you so much, that was very kind and totally appreciated, and the hose pipe in Manorbier and the drink station by the shop was amazing!

Also, the people who were in Tenby to greet us when we finished in Tudor Square were immense, it was a great feeling, thank you all.

I just wanted to finish by saying thank you to Activity Wales for such a great event, from Friday night to Sunday night it was amazing.

To all the people who swam, biked, and ran, well done, you were great, and to all the people of the area who supported on route, once again thank you.

See you next year!
