RE: Lighting up Pembrokeshire on Hiroshima Day.
Sixty-nine years ago, the sky above Hiroshima was lit up by the explosion of the first atomic bomb. 70,000 peple died instantly, and many more afterwards from the effects of radiation - more than the entire population of Pembrokeshire.
Come and join us, and people around the world, in remembering Hiroshima at a free event with music and stalls on Picton Centre Playing Fields on Wednesday August 6 from 6.30pm. At 9pm there will be a procession with candle-lit boats, which will be floated on the river – No more Hiroshimas!
