I AM currently attending the Cancer Day Unit. Since Dr Anne Barnes retired, we are left in a state of flux.
She has worked endlessly for her patients and the department in her care has been superb.
Now we are told that the unit is now without a consultant in cancer care.
This situation needs to be remedied with utmost haste.
Very many people from the wider area are solely reliant on this department, in their hour of utmost need.
In view of David Cameron’s latest pronouncements with regard to the NHS, perhaps this situation ought to be brought to his attention. I shall be emailing him today.
