IF the auditors report regarding the chief executive’s pay off is to be taken seriously, then I would suggest that those councillors who voted in favour of payment might start looking at their own competence. After all it is our money they are throwing about with apparent abandon.
Recently, by chance I walked into a meeting led by a councillor in Pembroke Dock library, on - would you believe it - “how can we save money?”. When I questioned the chief executive’s high salary, it was inferred that it was too difficult for me to understand. Perhaps many of the councillors are experiencing the same difficulty!
